The Fresh Sourdough Express Core Values
Serving local food is essential to building a local economy and assures freshness in all that we prepare.
We encourage more small-scale farmers to be stewards of the land, requeting organically grown produce and humanely raised meat products.
We believe that the food we consume directly affects our health and the health of the planet. The distance it travels and how it is grown and packaged all make a big difference.
We strive to be a zero-waste facility by composting all of our food scraps, recycling everything possible, using the least amount of packaged food, and implementing energy-efficient appliances and practices in our establishment.
We know that customer service makes all the difference in your experience while you dine. It is our honor and intention to serve our customers in a matter that is welcoming and enjoyable.
We are elated to see that more eateries everywhere are also striving to implement responsible choices into their establishments.
OH.MY.GOSH. I don’t know where to start…. We started with coffee and it was an AWESOME brew and they even gave us free samples of their baked goods while we waited for our food. We ordered the St. Augustine, the smoked salmon scramble, & cinnamon french toast. It was all insanely tasty and blew our minds! The French toast is the best we’ve ever had! Portions were big, I tried to finish mine because it flippin good, but was stuffed!
On our latest trip to Homer, we decided to give Fresh Sourdough Express a try and boy are we glad we did! That was our first day and we were so impressed that we went back everyday for a week! Each day, we tried something different. All of the food was exceptional.

Long story short, every aspect of the meal was superb. More than you can eat and excellent tasting to boot... I don't know much about Homer, but I now know where to get a good breakfast!
Prices were more than fair. I would return in a heartbeat... Somehow you know in your gut when you've found a place worth returning to time and time again.

When we arrived about 9.30 Sunday morning we were seated immediately and thought things were pretty quiet. Within fifteen minutes the place was packed, and when our food arrived we could see why it’s so popular. Delicious pancakes for the whole family, and our first experience of biscuit and gravy. Yum! Our first ‘real’ American breakfast and we loved it.

The Sourdough Express is one of the "must dos" for any Homer vacation. Do the 1/2 day Halibut trip and then go to the Sourdough for brunch. The food is hearty - I'd call it traditional Alaskan stick to your ribs with an environmental/green veggie ethic thrown in. Baked goods are great.
